Rijssen... Criterium

Samstag ging es dann nach Rijssen. Dort mussten wir bei Regen und Wind 38 Runden (60km) absolvieren mit einem kleinen Hügel darin, der einigen Fahrerinnen viel Schwierigkeiten brachte. So wurde das Feld in jeder Runde etwas kleiner und nach etwa 20km fuhr Adrie mit Sissy van Alebeek (Odysis). Van Alebeek hatte am Ende die meiste Kraft und gewann so vor Adrie. Den Sprint des übriggebliebenen Feldes gewann Yvonne Leezer (Vrienden van het Platteland). Ich nahm kein Risico mehr und wurde 24….letzte vom Feld… ooops.

Saturday I went to Rijssen. There we had to do 38 laps (60km) in rainy and windy conditions with a small hill in it. That brought some riders a lot of difficulties and so the peleton became in every lap a bit smaller. After 20km Adrie and Sissy van Alebeek (Odysis) got away. Van Alebeek had the most power left and won the sprint from Adrie. In the peleton it was Yvonne Leezer (Vrienden van het Platteland) who was fastest. I took no more risk and became 24 …. last of the peleton…. ooops.

Crit-time again

Auf einem kurvenreichen Parcours befand ich mich wiedermal die meiste Zeit in einer Spitzengruppe aus 5Fahrerinnen. Jedoch hatte ich nicht die Beine der letzten Wochen und konnte so nicht viel Führungsarbeit leisten und 4Runden vorm Ende wurde wir von einer 16 Fahrer starken Gruppe eingeholt und Kirsten zog den Spurt für Suus an und sie finishede vor Marianne Vos und Christine Mos (beide DSB-Bank). Kirsten und ich wurden 20 und 21.

On a parcours with lots of corners, I was once again for most time of the race in a group of 5riders. However, I had not the legs of the last weeks and was not able to do much working and with 4 laps to go we were caught from a group of 16 strong riders and Kirsten help Suus for the sprint and she finished before Marianne Vos and Christine Mos (both DSB-bank). Kirsten and I were 20th and 21st.

One weekend no Crit… oooh yeah :-)

Unsere Belgische Meisterin Corine Hierckens hat heute im Belgischen Aartrijke ihren ersten Sieg in 2006 gefeiert. Es war ein spannendes Rennen über 96km mit paar kleinen Hügeln. Trotz des herbstlichen Wetters (Sturm, Regen und 10 Grad) gelang es Coco (so wird sie von uns genannt) lange aus der Sicht des Feldes zu bleiben. Erst in der Schlussphase haben 2 andere Fahrerinnen den Sprung zu ihr machen können. 1km vorm Ziel fuhr sie bei ihnen wieder weg und gewann so souverän vor Tanja Hennes (Buitenpoort) und Emma Davies (Vlaanderen). Ich gewann den Spurt einer Zweier-Gruppe und wurde so 4.

Our Belgium champion Corine Hierckens celebrated today her first victory in 2006 in the Belgium Aartrijke. It was an exciting race over 96km with a bit of small hills. In spite of the autumnal weather (storm, rain and 10 degrees), it succeeded to remain Coco (its her nickname) to stay away from the bunch with a maximum advantage of 50 seconds. 2 girls were able to make the jump to her. With 1km before the finish she went again away and won so sovereign before Tanja Hennes (Buitenpoort) and Emma Davies (Vlaanderen). I won the sprint of a two ridersgroup and became so 4th.

Flevotour

Samstag, 13.Mai, ging es nach Kampen zur Flevotour. Wir mussten 90km absolvieren, es war wenig Wind, was nicht so üblich ist für Holland und so kam es wiedermal zu vielen Stürzen, bei dem leider auch Marlijn von unserer Mannschaft betroffen war und sich dabei das Schlüsselbein gebrochen hat.

Marlijn auf diesem Wege gute Besserung!!!

Es gab zahlreiche Attacken, aber die hielten meistens nicht lange an.
15km vorm Ziel attackierte ich wiedermal alleine, aber wurde leider 4km vorm Ziel wieder eingeholt und so kam es zum Massenspurt, den Bertine Spijkerman gewonnen hat vor Marianne Vos und Kirsten von unserem Team.

Saturday, 13.Mai, we had to race the Flevotour in Kampen. The race was 90km long, and it was not much wind, which is unusually for Holland and so many crashes happened again and unfortunately also Marlijn of our team was concerned in one of those crashes and broke her callorebone.

Marlijn on this way I wish you a speedy recovery!!!

There were numerous attacks, but they were brought back pretty quick. With 15km to go I attacked once again alone, but 4km before the finish the bunch caught me and so it came to a bunchsprint, which won Bertine Spijkerman (Therme) before Marianne Vos (DSB) and Kirsten of our team.

Sonntag ging es zu einem Criterium nach Veldhoven. Alles war noch etwas steif vom Sturz einen Tag zuvor. Doch gleich in der ersten von 11 zu fahrenden Runden (in total 61,5km) fuhr ich mit Linda Villumsen (Buitenpoort-Flexpoint) weg und zu unserem Erstaunen sollten wie das Feld bis zum Ziel nicht wieder sehen. Zwischen zeitlich schloss eine Gruppe zu uns auf, aber als wir sahen, das manche Fahrerinnen keine Arbeit machen wollten, fuhren Linda und ich wiederum weg. Und so haben wir den Sprint unter uns ausgemacht, den letztendlich Linda souverän gewonnen hat. Glückwunsch zu so einem starken Rennen an Lin. Kirsten hat den sprint vom feld gewonnen 39sek hinter uns und wurde noch 3.

Sunday I went to a Criterium in Veldhoven. Everything was still a bit stiff from the crash the day before. Immediately in the first of 11 laps (in totally 61,5km) I went with Linda Villumsen (Buitenpoort-Flexpoint) away and to our astonishment we did not see the peleton anymore until the finish. Temporally, a group of 4 or 5 riders made the jump to us, but as we saw that not everybody wanted to do his turn, Linda and I went again away. And so it came to a sprint between us two. Linda won it with few meters in front of me. Congratulation to Lin, she did such a strong race. Kirsten won the sprint from the bunch 39sec behind us und was 3rd.

Topcompetition number 2

Samstag war es dann wieder Zeit für das 2. Rennen um die Topcompetition. Es fand statt in Borsele und wir mussten 5runden absolvieren, in total 120km.
Gleich zu Beginn kam es zu einem grösseren Sturz, wobei ich auch mit betroffen war. Glücklicherweise bin ich relativ weich gefallen, so das ich mein Rennen fortsetzen konnte. Relativ schnell fuhr ich wieder zurück ins Peleton. Es passierte nicht so viel, bis etwa 15km vor dem Ziel, wo eine Spitzengruppe entstand, wobei auch Kirsten von unserem Team vertreten war. Das Rennen gewann Marianne Vos (DSB-Bank) vor Vera Koedoder (Buitenpoort-Flexpoint) und Bertine Spijkerman (Therme Skincare). Kirsten verfehlte knapp das Podium und wird 4. Ich fuhr mit dem Hauptfeld ins Ziel. Fazit: ein Rennen um schnell abzuhacken!

Saturday it was time again for the 2nd Topcompetition-race. It was held around Borsele and we had to ride 5laps, for a total of 120km. Immediately at the beginning of the race, there was a big crash when the peloton went into a smaller road, I was catgut up in it. Fortunately I fell quite softly, and could continue the race. Relatively quickly I was again back into the peleton. Nothing much happend until about 15km before the finish. Then a lead group was formed, where Kirsten was represented by our team. The race won Marianne Voss (DSB-bank) before Vera Koedoder (Buitenpoort-Flexpoint) and Bertine Spijkerman (Therme Skincare). Kirsten narrowly missed the podium and became 4th. I came in with the big bunch to the finish. Motto of the race: have to forget quick about this race.

Einen Tag später fuhr ich wieder zu einem Criterium und zum Glück kein Regen, aber es war noch immer recht frisch. Gleich zu Beginn attackierte Suzanne, doch nach paar Runden wurde sie wieder eingeholt und Marlijn war die nächste, die es probierte und das mit mehr Erfolg. 3 Fahrerinnen konnten noch zu ihr aufschliessen und so machten diese 4 den Sieg unter sich aus. Mit Reifenbreite verlor sie den Sprint, doch muss ich sagen, das sie ein starkes Rennen gefahren ist. Glückwunsch Marlijn. Der Rest von unserer Mannschaft finishede im Peleton.

The next day I went to another 60km Crit and luckely no rain, but it was still quite chilly. Immediately Suzanne attacked, but after a few laps she was reeled in and Marlijn was the next who tried to jump away and she had more success. 3 riders were able get to her and so these 4 made the sprint for the victory. With only a tire width separating the two top placegetters Marlijn became second, but I must say, that she did a strong race. Congratulations Marlijn. The remainder of our team finished in the peleton.

Ronde van Geldrop

Samstag, 29.April, am Koniginnendag in Holland, stand wiedermal ein Criterium auf dem Programm. Wie jedes Criterium war auch dieses 60km lang.
Das Wetter hier spielt immer noch verrückt. Letzte Woche noch Temperaturen um die 15-20 Grad und Sonnenschein, an diesem Tag waren es grad mal 5Grad und Regen. Da jeder es so kalt hatte, war das Tempo wieder hoch und so gab es wenig Attacken. 8 Runden vor Schluss probierte ich dann mein Heil in der Flucht, und zu meinem Erstaunen war ich alleine weg und konnte so nach langer Durststrecke wieder einen Sieg herausfahren. Dabei haben mir natürlich meine Mädels super geholfen…. Danke!!!! Suzanne wurde auch noch zweite vor Sissy van Alebeek (Odysis) und den Leaderspreis (jede Runde gibt es Punkte für die 1. Fahrerin) hab ich auch noch zusätzlich gewonnen.

Saturday, 29.April, at the Koniginnendag in Holland, there was once again a Criterium on the schedule. It went about 60 km. The weather here is still crazy. Last week there were temperatures around the 15-20 degrees and sunshine, this day it was only 5 degrees and rain. Because everyone was freezing, the speed was high and so there were not many attacks. 8 laps before the finish I tried my luck and to my astonishment I was alone away and could finally win a race again after a long time between victories. I won the “Leaderspreis” as well in addition (each lap the first rider got a point). Thanks to my teammates who did a great job!!! Suzanne was also second and Sissy van Alebeek (Odysis) completed the podium.
