Thüringen Tour

Prolog:
Den Prolog über 3,8km bei Temperaturen um die 35-40 Grad gewann Christiane Soeder (Univega) vor Zeitfahr-Europameisterin Linda Villumsen (Buitenpoort) und Hanka Kupfernagel (Deutsche Nationalmannschaft). Ich wurde 38. mit einem guten Zeitfahren.

By temperatures around the 35-40 degrees, Christiane Soeder (Univega) won the prologue over 3,8km before European TT-champion Linda Villumsen (Buitenpoort) and Hanka Kupfernagel (German national team). I became 38th with a good TT.

1.Etappe: Zeulenroda-Greiz
Es ging über 130km mit ständigen auf und ab. Überraschend gewann unser Sprinter Gela vor Nicole Cooke (Univega) und Hanka Kupfernagel. Ich belegte Platz 63. Hanka übernahm die Führung in der Gesamtwertung und unser Bergfloh Theresa übernahm die Führung in der Bergwertung.

We had to race 130km with permanent up and down. Surprisingly our sprinter Gela won before Nicole Cooke (Univega) and Hanka Kupfernagel. I placed 63rd Hanka took the leadership over in the General Classification and our mountain flea Theresa the leadership in the mountain classification.

2.Etappe: Greiz-Schleiz
Diese Etappe ging über 135km. Ich bekam grosse Schmerzen an meinem Zeh, was sich später als eine Nagelbettentzündung herausstellte. So probierte ich den Rest der Rundfahrt so gut wie möglich meine Arbeit für die Mannschaft zu absolvieren. Die heutige Etappe gewann Nicole Cooke vor Zoulfia Zabirova (Bigla) und Diana Ziliute (Pasta-Safi). Ich wurde 74. Nicole Cooke übernahm die Führung in der Gesamtwertung und Theresa blieb weiter vorn in der Bergwertung. Beide sollten die Trikots bis zum Ende der Rundfahrt nicht mehr abgeben.

This stage went over 135km. I got a lot of pain at my toe, what turned out later to a nail bed inflammation. So I tried to work as hard as possible for the team as a water-carrier . The stage won Nicole Cooke before Zoulfia Zabirova (Bigla) and Diana Ziliute (Pasta-Safi). I became 74th. Nicole Cooke took the lead over in the GC and Theresa lead still in the mountain-classification. Both should deliver the tricots to the end of the stage-race.

3.Etappe: Schleiz-Gera
Es ging über 128 km, wobei sich eine Gruppe von 8-fahrerinnen vom Feld absetzte, die den Sieg unter sich ausmachten. 1. Veronica Andreason (Pasta-Safi), 2. Emma Rickardson (Univega), 3. Tanja Hennes (Buitenpoort). Ich wurde 53.

It went over 128 km and a group of 8riders went off from the peleton and they sprinted the victory out. 1st Veronica Andreason (Pasta-Safi), 2nd Emma Rickardson (Univega), 3rd Tanja Hennes (Buitenpoort). I became 53.

4.Etappe: Schmölln
An diesem Tag standen 2Etappen auf dem Programm: Früh mussten wir ein Einzelzeitfahren über 18km absolvieren, wobei es mehr ein Bergzeitfahren war. Es gewann Nicole Cooke vor Christiane Soeder und Amber Neben (Buitenpoort). Endlich zeigten meine Beine etwas was sie drauf hatten und so wurde ich 28.

This day 2stages stood on the program: Early we had to ride a time trial over 18km which was more a mountain time trial. Nicole Cooke won before Christiane Soeder and Amber Neben (Buitenpoort). Finally my legs found some power back and so I became 28.

5.Etappe: Schmölln
Die 2. Etappe an diesem Tag ging über 74km. Ihren 2. Sieg an diesem Tag konnte Nicole Cooke feiern, vor Amber Neben und Trixi Worrack (Nürnberger). Ich belegte einen guten 26.Platz.

The 2nd stage this day went over 74km. Nicole Cooke was able to celebrate her 2nd victory this day, before Amber Neben and Trixi Worrack (Nuremberg). I belaid a good 26.place.

6.Etappe: Gera-Zeulenroda
Es mussten noch einmal schwere 113km gefahren werden. Gleich zu Beginn fuhr ich mit Hanka Kupfernagel weg, konnte jedoch ihrem hohen Tempo nach ca 40km nicht mehr folgen und wurde so bei ca 50km vom Feld eingeholt und musste wenig später völlig entkräftet das Rennen beenden. Die letzte Etappe gewann wiederum Nicole Cooke vor Trixi Worrack und Edita Pucinckaite (Nobili). Nicole Cooke konnte sich als verdiente Gesamtsiegerin und Theresa als Bergkönigin feiern lassen.

Heavy 113km were on the program once again. Immediately at the beginning, I went with Hanka Kupfernagel away, but wasn’t able to follow her high speed after ca 40km not longer and was so overtaken from the peleton after ca 50km and had to stop the race little later totally empty. The last stage won again Nicole Cooke before Trixi Worrack and Edita Pucinckaite (Nobili). Nicole Cooke was able to celebrate the win of the Thüringen Tour and Theresa won the mountain-classification.
